Fall 2007 Update: As I'm sure you know, there's a civil strike here in Vancouver. VPL workers are striking, so we won't have a screening venue until this is sorted out. Still, we have lots of great docs to show, so stay tuned for regular programming at VPL when all is well with the workers.

In June 2006, a small group of communication students began looking for a place to screen political cinema in Vancouver. Our goal was to organize film events that would create space for accessible, respectful dialogue around current social, environmental and political issues. In October, after weeks of digging to find the best venue option for our tiny budget, we partnered with Necessary Voices Society to organize film screenings at the downtown Vancouver Public Library starting in early 2007. Screenings will be organized on a regular basis, free of charge to the public.
